"You mean some stranger trying to get in my pants walking naked in my house." Davy corrected because that was still the truth. Sven was more or less a stranger still even if he had spent the night on the couch.
"I don't believe you." Davy started painting Sven's nails with bright pink glitter. "You're a singer and a model. There's no decency." It might have sounded insulting if it wasn't for the smirk on Davy's face as he worked. He's fallen into a rhythm of teasing the Swede every chance he gets.
Sven watched Davy paint his nails with bright pink glitter and noticed how well the colour suited him. The guitarist had a good sense in what the singer liked.
"I can be pretty indecent when I want to be."
The Swede licking his lips dirtily while staying still for the guitarist. Was he being filthy? Of course. It was too easy not to tease Davy while he was working and being a tarty boy.
"No shit. You did just wander my house naked this morning."
Davy definitely noticed that lick and raised a brow. Smirking he put the lid of the pink polish between his teeth, holding it in his mouth while he got the brush to add some bright blue and yellow patterns on Sven's nails. If that was the game Davy felt comfortable enough to play along.
"Yeah, I did. It's what I do everywhere, sweet cheeks."
Sven watched Davy closely to see what he was doing and noticed the boy was playing along slightly. The coloured patterns were a nice added touch to his nails as Sven smirked, loving how cute Davy looked while concentrating.
"And you wonder why I have problems with older men around the young members of my band?" Davy sighed heavily. It was so nerve wracking but he trusted Sam to look after Syn and Mikkel too. At least that let him be calmer than he would with the band baby being away.
Davy kept working and put the polish cap aside. "I don't appreciate your flattery when I know a lot of it is just you trying to get me in bed."
That was a serious response as he moved on to the other hand. Davy was standoffish still even if he was opening up a little. He could feel the pressure of Sven wanting him and he wasn't sure if he was comfortable with it right now.
"Relax, peaches. Also, I was being serious when I said you're cute. Don't be afraid to enjoy a compliment because I don't just want to get into your pants and bed. I want to get to know you like any other boy would."
Sven was being serious himself because Davy seemed to have a fixed view on older men around his band members. A negative one because of what might have happened with his band. The Swede sighing slightly because the boy was infuriating but cute at the same time.
"You really don't know shit about LA do you?" Davy shook his head and kept working. He's not surprised that someone from another country doesn't understand the scene here.
Davy just kept working and went back to clear coat the first set of nails now that they were dry.
"I do my own and the rest of the band all the time." Davy shrugged. "We're a new band. We have to look perfect to get anywhere."
"Maybe I don't. Us Scandis aren't as bad as some of the others in the LA glam scene from what I've heard. We don't all just prey on young boys for kicks and use them as sex toys. We care and we love. Yes, we can be trashy and loud but we take pride in our feeling of being close and looking out for one another. Age gaps mean little on our tour and we have boys dating men who are thirty years old than them and they are happy."
Sven had to get that out in the open because it was bugging him. More, he wanted Davy to know that just because an older man loved a younger boy it didn't make them bad.
"I know how you feel. We were the same when we first started up in the Swedish glam scene."
Davy stopped what he was doing to look up at Sven. "You know they all say the same damned thing and none of you have acted much differently since I've met some of you." Davy sighed. "Even you just grabbed me and kissed me while I was drunk without even caring to know if I was interested."
Davy isn't even being sassy right now. Sven had crossed a line without asking or even getting any feedback that said Davy was interested enough to start making out on the couch. He didn't mind the company but that had diminished a bit of the trust that was being built.
"Do they expect you to fuck a bunch of girls to prove you're worth promoting?" Davy had run into it and frowned. "They especially expect it from the singer."
Which was a sticking point for the guitarist for sure. It didn't help his stance on the others coming in on the band.
"Get to know us all and you'll understand. We're not all predatory monsters. We're good-hearted men who care and protect."
Sven wasn't going to say more on that because Davy would soon come to understand the tour members were good people, even if they did act drunk and lewd at times. Some more than others.
"I know what you mean. The glam scene can be a fucking brutal place for any young musician or singer to get into. The pressures, expectations---they can be bullshit. As for us singers---we're the front men who have to exhibit a certain type of behaviour to "fit in." I've never fucked a girl in my life and don't intend to. I don't give a shit what the glam scene think of me or anyone else. I am who I am and live free."
"Sven!" Davy put down everything and was getting clearly frustrated. "You followed me home while I was drunk, expected to sleep in my bed and kissed me without even asking or knowing what I wanted. You need to check your fucking behavior toward other people. I don't want sex and I don't want you fucking coming on to me all over the place. I barely know who the fuck you are."
The claws were back out but not without reason. This was getting deep into how Davy got attracted to others and he hated feeling pressured or the constant feeling of being persuaded. Though Sven was better behaved than many it still ticked the guitarist off.
Davy turned away from Sven to work on his own nails since the singer's were done. "So you do understand. Now imagine looking after three underaged kids that everyone expects to do all of that to the point they try to lure them out and separate us." The claws weren't out as much now. "So don't question my behavior. You have no damned idea what you are talking about, not here, and not with us. Maybe you should stop trying to tell me what it's like and actually take interest in what goes down here."
Davy perceived some of this as arrogance that he often saw from older musicians. He hated being treated like a clueless kid that needed to be told what was really going on or that other people's experiences were his own.
Sven just stared at Davy for a good few moments and sighed. What was the point in arguing with the boy anyway? The guitarist obviously had reasons for acting the way he did and the compliments the singer were giving him were not getting him anywhere but reflected back in his face.
"I'm not questioning your behaviour. Fine. I'll play it your way. Yes, we're new to LA and the glam scene so you have one up on us and more experience. I'm sorry and I didn't mean to insult you or pressure you."
The Swede looked down at his nails and sighed slowly. Fuck! The boy was infuriating but cute. Sven kept telling himself that as he let Davy vent what he needed to. There was nothing wrong with what he was saying but the singer didn't even know what to say right now.
Davy is glad that Sven has backed up and giving him some space to work out his thoughts. He takes time working on his own nails quietly. It does wonders for calming himself down by the time his nails were done in a dark purple.
"Are you ready to do something other than stare at my ass?" It was a playful question but a serious one that put out his stance on things without the claws that were so recently out.
The singer glanced up at Davy and sighed. What the fuck was he even doing? The boy had brought reality down onto him like a ton of bricks. He'd not dated in what? A year or more so he was out of the loop in knowing how to date. Fuck, was he being forceful on the poor kid? The Swede frowned.
"I've been a total fucking asshole and I'm sorry. A desperate old man wanting touch and I've forced things onto you that I shouldn't. Davy--you're right. A year without anyone and I can't remember how to fucking date properly."
If Ulrik or Ivar were there with Sven they'd probably laugh and roll their eyes. The singer had fucked up.
Davy took a breath and tried to be reasonable. The admission made him feel a little better.
"Most people don't talk or ask." Davy was doing his best to be level headed for a moment. "You're like everyone else. I'm the one who doesn't like what everyone else does."
Davy started putting the polish away. He was used to feeling like the odd one because he didn't just jump into bed with people like most did. He needed time and he rarely got it.
"I guess I need to slow down and stop acting like a horny tomcat. Davy, I never meant to shove myself into your space or pressure you. I'm sorry, sweetie. Yeah, I suppose I am like everyone else because that's what I've been used to for a long time now. Breaking the mould isn't easy but you are totally worth that."
Sven made his own admission and realised that he'd gotten used to jumping into bed with the next hot boy during his time as a singer. Then, he'd fallen out of dating for a long time due to his fussiness over boys his age. Davy was different and Sven respected that.
"I respect you for who you are and your choices in life. If we were all the same the world would be boring."
The Swede offered a small smile and hoped Davy wouldn't shove him away.
"No shit it is hard to break a mold." Davy shrugged. "People treat me like shit sometimes or don't give me the time of day because i don't act like a whore."
He didn't mean that as an insult to Sven' behavior but it was something he felt about his own needs for time. Sven talking calmed him so much and the guitarist visibly relaxed.
"I don't like strangers trying to get into my life and bed." If Sven was going to be honest, Davy felt compelled to be as well.
Sven nodded and wiggled his fingers feeling the polish begin to dry and harden on his nails. They looked really good and this cheered the Swede up a little. He did feel sorry for Davy though when he said he got treated like shit because no one should be pressured for sex.
"That's wrong and I'm sorry people treat you that way when you're a really nice person. Sex shouldn't be forced onto anyone if they don't want it."
The singer did understand where Davy was coming from wanting to be a private man and not someone who was extrovert like others. He nodded at the admission as he blew on his sparkly nails.
"You tried the same shit on me." Davy mentioned but it was more of a jab than an insult. He realized that Sven didn't know any better and most people didn't.
It wasn't so much he was private as much as needing to trust people to be there when he was vulnerable, asleep, or anything like that.
"I can redo them before they get as bad as they were." Davy smiled slightly. He was trying to make Sven understand that he didn't hate him but he did need him to back off a little for now.
"I know I did and I feel bad for doing so. Sorry, sweetie."
Sven felt bad for shoving himself onto Davy when it was clear the guitarist needed time and space. He wasn't a jump in the bed type like the Swede's past boyfriends. It was more just a habit he'd gotten into back when he did date.
"I'd like that, thank you."
The Swede appreciated that Davy wanted to do this for him after their heated words together.
"I'm not interested right now." Davy said those specific words because he did think the Swede was attractive but he needed time. It was an open offer of sorts for Sven to check in again later if he was still around. Who knew if he would leave the country tomorrow or next week. That also put the American off from rushing into anything too, maybe even more so than usual.
"Anytime." Davy managed a small smile but wondered what they should do now that they had an argument of sorts.
"Ok well----I'd still like to see you because I like you but I respect what you want, cutie."
Sven felt deflated inside that Davy wasn't interested in being with him. He'd never had a boy say this to him so it felt raw but he did understand why. Fuck. Had he blew it? Fucked up by being too forceful? Perhaps.
"Thanks for doing my nails though. They're really fucking cute."
Davy wondered what to do as well and then shrugged. "I have to be the band taxi this afternoon."
There's a hanging comment that he just can't bring himself to say, to invite Sven back if he wanted. He just stared at Sven for a moment in silence and then looked down at his nails.
"You should see what Sydney has me doing to his." Davy smiled because at least he didn't have to draw flowers and all sorts of other things.
"That's fine. You do a good job being band dad and band taxi. Also, nice SUV you've got. She was a nice ride."
Sven nodded and admired his freshly dried nails, glittering in the light. His heart felt heavy but there was always hope. Maybe Davy would want to see him again...
"I'm sure he gets you doing all sort of cute patterns."
The Swede knowing that Ivar had his eye on that cute boy but not mentioning that now.
"I suppose I should call a ride to get back to my apartment."
Davy hesitated and then looked away. "Joey said he wanted to go back to the apartments after work..." He left it hanging and didn't exactly invite Sven back but maybe he would speak those words lately.
"I can drop you off when I go to pick up Joey. I have to go soon." Davy mentioned and it wasn't just Joey, probably the whole band would want rides around.
